The Arab American Democrats announced it has added California State Controller John Chiang and State Senator Alan Lowenthal, of the 27th District, to the list of guest speakers at this Friday's 'Kick-Off Inaugural Party'. In addition, other confirmed speakers include: former State Assembly candidate Ferial Masry, Anaheim City School District candidate Alkamalee Jabbar, and 71st Assembly District Delegate to the California Democratic Party Hussam Ayloush, who's also the Executive Director of CAIR-LA.

The Arab American Democrats of California is holding its inaugural Kick-Off Party on Friday, December 2, 2011 at Golden Nights restaurant in Buena Park, California.

City of Bell's Arab American mayor Ali Saleh has confirmed to attend and speak at the event. Mayor Saleh is the son of Lebanese immigrants, a business-owner and a life-long resident of Bell.
Bell was rocked by scandal last year after it was revealed that many of its top officials and most of its City Council was taking home exorbitant salaries. Saleh led an effort through the Bell Association to Stop the Abuse (BASTA) to organize against corruption in the city. He was elected in April 2011 as Mayor of Bell.
