My response to Israel's ambassador to the US, Michael Oren's op-ed (Middle East peace: The wrong pact) published in the Los Angeles Times last Thursday. In case the Times doesn't publish it in its 'Letters to the Editors' section, here it is:
While Hamas-regime PM Ismail Haniyeh's opinion of Bin Laden as "holy warrior" does not represent the view of a vast majority of Palestinians, Israeli ambassador Michael Oren's claim that the Palestinian unity deal is a blow to peace is bizarre. Years of friction between Palestinian factions brought nothing but more illegal Jewish settlements in the West Bank and a deadly siege on Gaza. It's time for Palestinians to stop engaging Israel until it renounces violence, recognizes the right of an independent Palestinian state to exist and abides by previous agreements.
