Little Arabia's Gaza Strip might join Anaheim!

The OC Register reported today Anaheim City Council is calling a special election to ask residents of a 40-acre, unincorporated county island on the west side to join the city.  The neighborhood is near Brookhurst and Broadway avenues – part of an area known as the southwest county island or Garza Island (also known as the Gaza Strip) that now relies on county services.

The unincorporated area is in Anaheim's Little Arabia, which hasn't yet been officially designated as such. However, an Arab community initiative is calling for recognizing the area as Little Arabia - Anaheim.
