NAAP-OC CALLS FOR AN IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE IN GAZA
[ANAHEIM, CA] – The Network of Arab American Professionals of Orange County (NAAP-OC) is deeply concerned about the worsening humanitarian crisis that continues to unfold in Gaza, Occupied Palestine. NAAP-OC emphatically urges the Bush administration to demand an immediate, unconditional ceasefire in order to stop the bloodshed.
Over 900 Palestinians have been killed, more than half of these are innocent civilians, including 284 children, and over 4000 have been injured since the beginning of the Israeli invasion.
"Our hard-earned tax dollars are subsidizing a humanitarian crisis," said Sami Mashney, founder and a board member of NAAP-OC. "As Americans tax-payers, we demand that our government hold Israel accountable for its brutal and heavy-handed assault on Gaza," he added.
The United States gifts Israel with over $3,000,000,000 in sophisticated military and economic aid. NAAP-OC calls Members of Congress to join with Rep. Dennis Kucinich in demanding the Secretary of State to investigate Israel's violations of the Arms Export Control Act. Members of Congress must hold Israel accountable for its misuse of U.S. weapons that has killed hundreds of Palestinian civilians in violation of U.S. and international law.
NAAP-OC is a non-profit, community-based organization dedicated to empowering the Arab American community through social, cultural, professional and civic initiatives.
