Islamophobia on college campuses
The Middle Eastern American Democratic Project (MEADP) strongly condemns the hate campaign known as “Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week,” which has taken place in more than 100 college campuses around the nation. The campaign seeks to portray Islam as an inherently oppressive and violent religion. The term “Islamo-Fascism” is a false term and a war propaganda adopted by some Republican presidential candidates, which is designed to generate fear in order to mislead the American people into supporting the permanent presence of our troops in Iraq and conducting a future war with Iran. The MEADP calls on all Americans to stand up against hate and fear-mongering the organizers attempted to stoke at US campuses. The event was organized by David Horowitz, a leading Islamophobe, and the various Republican student groups.
